How it works:
When your pet goes missing, simply go to the checkyourpaws.com website and click the (Report your Pet Missing) button on the home page. Then you want to fill in the form and click submit. Be sure to use your Member Registration Number and give any additional information in the area last seen field.
Once you click the submit button lost alerts will be sent to all of the Recovery Centers and Personal Network Members in a 25 mile radius from where your pet was last seen. Alerts will continue to be sent according to the alert schedule listed below or until your pet is returned. The alert will contain the digital photo you have saved in our system and details about your pet including name, age, type, etc. You will be contacted through the L.A.P. system with any updates on the progress of finding your pet until they are with you once again.
Alert Schedule
1st lost alert sent once submitted.
2nd lost alert sent 12 hours after submitted.
3rd lost alert sent 48 hours after submitted.
4th lost alert sent 96 hours after submitted.
After 96 hours have past, reminder lost alerts will be sent one time per week until your pet is returned or for a maximum 3 month period.
The loss of a pet can be devastating; you must play an active role in searching for your pet. Take the next step to insure your pet will be a part of your family for as long as possible.
The next step is Pawpass with the L.A.P.
L.A.P. (Lost Alert Program) is a unique lost pet recovery service which aids in your pets safe and quick return to your loving home. L.A.P. utilizes a network of animal professionals (Recovery Centers) made up of Veterinarians, Groomers, and Shelters and an ever growing personal member network organization made of caring pet owners (like yourself) to receive digital alerts when an animal is missing in their area. Every L.A.P. membership covers up to 4 pets per household.
